Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups Granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 tablespoon Red food coloring
  • 1 tablespoon Blue food coloring
  • 2 cups Whipped cream
  • 2 cups Fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 cup Fresh blueberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add softened butter, milk, vanilla extract, and eggs. Mix until smooth and well combined.
  4. Divide the batter into three bowls. Leave one bowl plain for the white layer.
  5. Tint one bowl of batter with red food coloring and the other with blue food coloring.
  6. Pour the red batter into one half of the prepared pan and the blue batter into the other half. Spread evenly.
  7. Pour the plain batter over the red and blue sections, smoothing it out.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan.
  10. Once cooled, frost the top of the cake with whipped cream.
  11. Arrange strawberries in rows to create stripes and place blueberries in the corner for stars.

Notes

  • You can adjust the amount of food coloring to achieve your desired shade.
  • For a more festive look, add sprinkles or edible glitter on top.
