- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups Granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon Baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 cup Unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup Milk
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- 3 Eggs
- 1 tablespoon Red food coloring
- 1 tablespoon Blue food coloring
- 2 cups Whipped cream
- 2 cups Fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1 cup Fresh blueberries
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add softened butter, milk, vanilla extract, and eggs. Mix until smooth and well combined.
- Divide the batter into three bowls. Leave one bowl plain for the white layer.
- Tint one bowl of batter with red food coloring and the other with blue food coloring.
- Pour the red batter into one half of the prepared pan and the blue batter into the other half. Spread evenly.
- Pour the plain batter over the red and blue sections, smoothing it out.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan.
- Once cooled, frost the top of the cake with whipped cream.
- Arrange strawberries in rows to create stripes and place blueberries in the corner for stars.
Notes
- You can adjust the amount of food coloring to achieve your desired shade.
- For a more festive look, add sprinkles or edible glitter on top.
