- 1 cup fresh figs, chopped
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 egg, beaten for egg wash
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the cold, cubed butter to the dry ingredients and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Gently fold in the chopped figs.
- In a separate bowl, combine the honey and heavy cream.
- Pour the honey mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently knead it a few times until it comes together.
- Pat the dough into a circle about 1 inch thick and cut into wedges.
- Place the scones on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the tops with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
