Easy Strawberry Sauce for Cheesecake: Glossy & Ready in 10 Minutes

  • Author: ushinzomr

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • 2 tablespoons water (if using cornstarch)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the halved strawberries, sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla extract.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the strawberries begin to release their juices, about 5 minutes.
  3. If using cornstarch, mix it with the water in a small bowl to create a slurry. Add the slurry to the saucepan and stir to combine.
  4. Continue to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and becomes glossy.
  5. Remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving. The sauce can be served warm or chilled.

Notes

  • For a smoother sauce, blend the mixture after cooking until desired consistency is reached.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
