Instructions
- In a bowl, combine sliced strawberries, sugar, and vanilla extract. Let sit for 15 minutes to macerate.
- Prepare individual serving glasses or bowls.
- Layer the bottom of each glass with pound cake or shortcake slices.
- Add a layer of macerated strawberries along with some juice.
- Follow with a layer of blueberries.
- Top with a generous dollop of whipped cream.
- Repeat the layers until glasses are filled, ending with whipped cream on top.
- Garnish with mint leaves and serve immediately.
Notes
- For a patriotic touch, alternate layers of red strawberries and blue blueberries.
