This is a simple recipe for traditional Irish soda bread.
Ingredients

- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 3/4 cups buttermilk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Create a well in the center and pour in the buttermilk.
- Stir until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for a few minutes.
- Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it on a baking sheet.
- Cut a cross on top of the loaf.
- Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
- Serve warm with butter.
- Store leftovers in a cloth to keep them fresh.
- This bread is best eaten the same day.
