- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained
- 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained
- 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, then drain excess fat.
- Add diced onion, garlic, and bell pepper. Cook for 3-4 minutes until softened.
- Transfer the beef mixture to the crockpot.
- Add kidney beans, black beans, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, and beef broth.
- Stir in chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
- Serve hot with optional toppings like cheese, sour cream, or cilantro.
Notes
- For a spicier chili, add jalapeños or cayenne pepper.
- Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
