Description

A simple and comforting chicken and dumplings recipe that’s perfect for a quick meal.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup carrots, diced
  • 1 cup celery, diced
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, bring chicken broth to a boil.
  2. Add carrots and celery, simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Add shredded chicken and simmer for another 5 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, milk, and butter to form a dough.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of dough into the simmering broth.
  6. Cover and cook for 15 minutes until dumplings are fluffy.
  7. Serve hot.

  • Use leftover chicken for quicker prep.
