Description

A sweet treat made with apples coated in candy.


Ingredients

  • 4 medium apples
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 tsp food coloring (red or green)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the apples thoroughly.
  2. Insert wooden sticks into the stem end of each apple.
  3. In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, and corn syrup.
  4. Cook over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  5. Bring the mixture to a boil without stirring until it reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).
  6. Remove from heat and stir in food coloring and vanilla.
  7. Dip each apple into the candy mixture, coating completely.
  8. Place coated apples on parchment paper to cool.
