Description
A sweet treat made with apples coated in candy.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 medium apples
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 1 tsp food coloring (red or green)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Wash and dry the apples thoroughly.
- Insert wooden sticks into the stem end of each apple.
- In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, and corn syrup.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
- Bring the mixture to a boil without stirring until it reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).
- Remove from heat and stir in food coloring and vanilla.
- Dip each apple into the candy mixture, coating completely.
- Place coated apples on parchment paper to cool.

- Use a candy thermometer for accuracy.
- Allow apples to cool completely before serving.
- Store in a cool, dry place.
