Ingredients

- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 quart oil for frying
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine water, sugar, salt, and vegetable oil. Bring to a boil.
- Remove from heat and stir in flour until the mixture forms a ball.
- Heat oil for frying in a deep-fryer or deep skillet to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- Pipe strips of dough into the hot oil using a pastry bag. Fry until golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels.
- Combine 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon in a shallow dish. Roll drained churros in the mixture.
Notes
- Use a star-shaped nozzle for the pastry bag to get the classic churro ridges.
- Serve with chocolate sauce or dulce de leche for dipping.
