Description

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 quart oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine water, sugar, salt, and vegetable oil. Bring to a boil.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in flour until the mixture forms a ball.
  3. Heat oil for frying in a deep-fryer or deep skillet to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  4. Pipe strips of dough into the hot oil using a pastry bag. Fry until golden brown.
  5. Drain on paper towels.
  6. Combine 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon in a shallow dish. Roll drained churros in the mixture.

Notes

  • Use a star-shaped nozzle for the pastry bag to get the classic churro ridges.
  • Serve with chocolate sauce or dulce de leche for dipping.
