Ingredients

- 1 cup stone-ground grits
- 4 cups water
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp chopped parsley
Instructions
- Bring water to a boil in a saucepan. Stir in grits and salt.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 20 minutes.
- Stir in cheddar cheese until melted.
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
- Add shrimp, paprika, and black pepper. Cook until shrimp turn pink, about 3 minutes.
- Spoon grits into bowls and top with shrimp. Garnish with parsley.
