Description
A simple and delicious hummus recipe made with chickpeas, tahini, and spices. Perfect as a dip or spread.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 1/4 cup tahini
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2–3 tbsp water (as needed)
- Paprika and extra olive oil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Add chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, olive oil, cumin, and salt to a food processor.
- Blend until smooth, scraping down the sides as needed.
- If the mixture is too thick, add water 1 tbsp at a time until desired consistency is reached.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Transfer to a serving bowl and drizzle with olive oil and a sprinkle of paprika.
- Serve with pita bread, vegetables, or crackers.
Notes
- For extra creaminess, remove chickpea skins before blending.
- Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
- Add roasted red peppers or jalapeños for a flavor variation.
