Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup fresh cranberries, chopped
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the cold butter to the dry ingredients and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the chopped cranberries and walnuts.
  5. Pour in the heavy cream and mix just until combined.
  6. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently a few times.
  7. Pat the dough into a circle about 1 inch thick.
  8. Cut the dough into wedges and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Brush the tops of the scones with additional heavy cream.
  10. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
