- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup fresh cranberries, chopped
- 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the cold butter to the dry ingredients and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the chopped cranberries and walnuts.
- Pour in the heavy cream and mix just until combined.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently a few times.
- Pat the dough into a circle about 1 inch thick.
- Cut the dough into wedges and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the tops of the scones with additional heavy cream.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
