Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup Milk
  • 1 pound Ground sausage
  • 1/4 cup All-purpose flour (for gravy)
  • 2 cups Milk (for gravy)
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • to taste Salt (for gravy)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Make a well in the center and pour in the milk. Stir until just combined.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently. Pat into a 1-inch thick round.
  6. Cut out biscuits using a biscuit cutter and place on a baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  8. In a skillet, cook sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  9. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly.
  10. Cook until gravy thickens. Season with salt and pepper.
  11. Serve biscuits warm, topped with sausage gravy.
