- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon Baking powder
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 cup Unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup Milk
- 1 pound Ground sausage
- 1/4 cup All-purpose flour (for gravy)
- 2 cups Milk (for gravy)
- 1 teaspoon Black pepper
- to taste Salt (for gravy)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
- In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Make a well in the center and pour in the milk. Stir until just combined.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently. Pat into a 1-inch thick round.
- Cut out biscuits using a biscuit cutter and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
- In a skillet, cook sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly.
- Cook until gravy thickens. Season with salt and pepper.
- Serve biscuits warm, topped with sausage gravy.
