Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 cup ketchup (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, milk, eggs, 1/4 cup ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and thyme. Mix until well combined.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan and shape it into a loaf.
  4. Spread the remaining 1/2 cup of ketchup over the top of the meatloaf.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  6. Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For added flavor, you can mix in diced bell peppers or mushrooms.
  • Leftover meatloaf makes great sandwiches!
