- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup onion, chopped
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 cup ketchup (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, milk, eggs, 1/4 cup ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and thyme. Mix until well combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan and shape it into a loaf.
- Spread the remaining 1/2 cup of ketchup over the top of the meatloaf.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
- Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For added flavor, you can mix in diced bell peppers or mushrooms.
- Leftover meatloaf makes great sandwiches!
