- 9 lasagna noodles
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 24 oz marinara sauce
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Cook lasagna noodles as per package instructions, then drain.
- Brown beef, onion, and garlic in a pan. Add marinara sauce, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Mix ricotta cheese with the egg in a bowl.
- Layer noodles, meat sauce, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella in a baking dish. Repeat layers.
- Top with Parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 25 minutes or until bubbly and golden.
Notes
- Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
- Substitute ground turkey for a lighter version.
- Fresh basil adds great flavor when serving.
