- 6 cups stale bread, cubed
- 2 cups whole milk
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup raisins (optional)
- 1/2 cup heavy cream (for caramel sauce)
- 1 cup brown sugar (for caramel sauce)
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter (for caramel sauce)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Place the bread cubes in a large mixing bowl.
- In another bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
- Pour the mixture over the bread and let it soak for 10 minutes.
- Fold in raisins if using.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish.
- Bake for 45 minutes or until set and golden brown.
- While baking, prepare the caramel sauce by melting butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Add brown sugar and stir until dissolved.
- Slowly pour in heavy cream while stirring continuously.
- Simmer for 3-5 minutes until thickened.
- Drizzle the caramel sauce over the baked bread pudding before serving.

- Use day-old bread for better texture.
- Adjust sugar to taste.
