  • Author: ushinzomr

Description

These soft and fluffy cinnamon rolls are a classic breakfast treat, filled with a sweet cinnamon sugar mixture and topped with a creamy icing. Perfect for a weekend brunch or any special occasion!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup whole milk, warmed
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened (for filling)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
  • 12 tablespoons milk (for icing)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until bubbly.
  2. Add melted butter, eggs, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Gradually add flour, stirring until a dough forms. Knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  5. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon for the filling.
  6. Once dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle. Spread softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly on top.
  7. Roll the dough tightly from the long side into a log. Cut into 12 equal pieces and place in a greased baking dish.
  8. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. For the icing, mix powdered sugar with milk until smooth. Drizzle over warm cinnamon rolls before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add vanilla extract to the icing.
  • These cinnamon rolls can be made ahead of time and frozen before baking.
  • To reheat, simply warm them in the oven at 350°F for a few minutes.
