Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup whole milk, warmed
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened (for filling)
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
- 1–2 tablespoons milk (for icing)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until bubbly.
- Add melted butter, eggs, and salt. Mix well.
- Gradually add flour, stirring until a dough forms. Knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon for the filling.
- Once dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle. Spread softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly on top.
- Roll the dough tightly from the long side into a log. Cut into 12 equal pieces and place in a greased baking dish.
- Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- For the icing, mix powdered sugar with milk until smooth. Drizzle over warm cinnamon rolls before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add vanilla extract to the icing.
- These cinnamon rolls can be made ahead of time and frozen before baking.
- To reheat, simply warm them in the oven at 350°F for a few minutes.
