Sweet Endings to a Fiesta
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup of cocoa powder
- 2 cups of granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup of milk
- 1 cup of chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
- 1 cup of whipped cream for topping
- Fresh berries for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix together eggs, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and milk until well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. If using nuts, fold them in now.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool completely, then cut into squares.
- Top each square with whipped cream and garnish with fresh berries before serving.
Notes
- For an extra festive touch, consider adding a sprinkle of cinnamon to the batter or topping.
- You can substitute the nuts with chocolate chips for a different flavor.
- These brownies can be made a day in advance and stored in an airtight container.
