- 6 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 pound breakfast sausage, cooked and crumbled
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 6 slices bread, cubed
- 1/2 teaspoon dried mustard
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and dried mustard.
- Layer bread cubes, cooked sausage, and cheese in the baking dish.
- Pour egg mixture evenly over the layers.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight or bake immediately.
- Bake uncovered for 45-50 minutes until golden and set.
- Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute ham or bacon for sausage.
- For a vegetarian option, omit meat and add sautéed vegetables.
- Leftovers reheat well in the microwave.
