- 1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs)
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh rosemary
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
- 2 lbs potatoes, peeled and quartered
- 1 lb carrots, sliced
- 1 lb green beans, trimmed
- 1 cup cranberry sauce
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Mix butter, rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Rub the butter mixture all over the turkey.
- Place turkey in a roasting pan and pour broth into the bottom.
- Roast for 3-4 hours, basting every 30 minutes.
- Add potatoes, carrots, and green beans to the pan after 2 hours.
- Check turkey temperature; it should reach 165°F (74°C).
- Let turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
- Serve with cranberry sauce.
