- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 tbsp chopped rosemary
- 2 tbsp chopped thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 cups mashed potatoes
- 2 cups green beans, steamed
- 1 cup cranberry sauce
- 1 loaf dinner rolls
- 2 cups gravy
- 1 pumpkin pie (9-inch)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Mix butter, rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Rub the butter mixture all over the turkey.
- Place turkey in a roasting pan and cover with foil.
- Roast for 3 hours, basting every 30 minutes.
- Remove foil and roast for another 1 hour until golden brown.
- Let turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
- Serve with mashed potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce, and rolls.
- Finish with pumpkin pie for dessert.
Notes
- Thaw turkey in the fridge for 24 hours per 5 lbs.
- Use a meat thermometer to check doneness (165°F in the thickest part).
- Make gravy from turkey drippings for extra flavor.
