A rich and moist chocolate cake perfect for Christmas celebrations.
Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup strong black coffee (hot)
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Add eggs, buttermilk, coffee, oil, and vanilla. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Frost with your favorite chocolate frosting and decorate for Christmas.
Notes
- Use room-temperature ingredients for best results.
- The coffee enhances the chocolate flavor but doesn’t make the cake taste like coffee.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
