A delicious and hearty casserole perfect for Christmas morning.
Ingredients

- 8 slices of bread, cubed
- 1 pound of breakfast sausage
- 12 large eggs
- 2 cups of milk
- 2 cups of shredded cheese
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the breakfast sausage in a skillet until browned. Drain excess fat.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Layer the cubed bread in a greased baking dish.
- Add the cooked sausage and shredded cheese over the bread.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until set.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Can be made a day ahead and stored in the refrigerator.
- Customize with your favorite vegetables or spices.
- Leftovers can be reheated in the oven or microwave.
