A delicious and hearty casserole perfect for Christmas morning.


Ingredients

  • 8 slices of bread, cubed
  • 1 pound of breakfast sausage
  • 12 large eggs
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 2 cups of shredded cheese
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the breakfast sausage in a skillet until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  4. Layer the cubed bread in a greased baking dish.
  5. Add the cooked sausage and shredded cheese over the bread.
  6. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the top.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until set.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
