- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp cloves
- 1/4 tsp ginger
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- Whisk flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and ginger in a bowl.
- In another bowl, mix oil, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, pumpkin puree, and water.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
- Remove 1 cup of batter and mix with cocoa powder and chocolate chips.
- Pour half the plain batter into the pan. Add the chocolate batter, then top with remaining plain batter.
- Swirl gently with a knife.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Notes
- Use canned or homemade pumpkin puree.
- Do not overmix the batter.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
