Description
A delicious chocolate covered strawberries cake that combines rich chocolate flavor with fresh strawberries.

- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup buttermilk
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
- 1 ½ cups chocolate ganache (made with 1 cup heavy cream and 8 ounces chocolate)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add softened butter, eggs, vanilla, and buttermilk. Mix until smooth.
- Fold in chopped strawberries.
- Pour batter into a greased cake pan.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool completely.
- Prepare chocolate ganache and spread over the cooled cake.
- Top with additional strawberries if desired.
