Description

A quick and flavorful Chinese beef and onion stir fry that’s perfect for a weeknight dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef (sliced thin)
  • 2 onions (sliced)
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp ginger (minced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Marinate beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, sugar, and black pepper for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a wok or pan over high heat.
  3. Add ginger and garlic, stir for 10 seconds.
  4. Add beef and stir-fry until browned (about 3 minutes). Remove from pan.
  5. Add onions and stir-fry for 2 minutes.
  6. Return beef to the pan, mix well, and cook for another minute.
  7. Serve hot with rice.

  • Slice beef against the grain for tenderness.
  • Adjust soy sauce to taste.
