Ingredients

- 2 lbs beef chuck, cut into cubes
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup beef broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add chopped onion and garlic; sauté until soft.
- Add beef cubes; brown on all sides.
- Stir in chili powder, cumin, and oregano.
- Add crushed tomatoes and beef broth; bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat; simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours until beef is tender.
- Season with salt and pepper before serving.
Notes
- Serve with rice or tortillas.
- Adjust spices to taste.
- Can be made ahead and reheated.
