Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
  • 8 cups of chicken broth
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon of dried thyme
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup of egg noodles

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine chicken pieces and chicken broth.
  2. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
  3. Add carrots, celery, onion, garlic, thyme, and bay leaf.
  4. Continue to simmer for another 30 minutes.
  5. Remove chicken, shred the meat, and return it to the pot.
  6. Add egg noodles and cook until tender.
  7. Season with salt and pepper before serving.
