- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (193°C).
- In a shallow bowl, combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness for uniform cooking.
- Coat each chicken breast in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing firmly to adhere.
- Spray both sides of the breaded chicken with cooking spray.
- Place the chicken in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 10 minutes.
- Flip the chicken and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Top each chicken breast with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese. Return to the air fryer and cook for 3-5 more minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the air fryer and let rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
Notes
- For extra crunch, you can double dip the chicken in egg before coating with breadcrumbs.
- Feel free to add your favorite herbs and spices to the breadcrumb mixture for added flavor.
