- 500g ground chicken
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 400g canned crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp sugar
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix ground chicken, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Shape into small meatballs.
- Heat olive oil in a pan. Brown meatballs on all sides. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, add crushed tomatoes, chicken broth, tomato paste, and sugar. Stir well.
- Return meatballs to the pan. Simmer for 15-20 minutes until cooked through.
- Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
Notes
- For a smoother texture, blend the onion and garlic before mixing.
- If the sauce is too thick, add a little water or broth.
- Replace breadcrumbs with almond flour for a gluten-free option.
