Description

A creamy and comforting dish made with layers of potatoes, cheese, and thyme.


Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Butter a baking dish and layer half the potato slices evenly.
  3. Sprinkle half the thyme, salt, pepper, and garlic powder over the potatoes.
  4. Pour half the cream and dot with half the butter.
  5. Repeat with remaining potatoes, seasonings, cream, and butter.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly on top.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  8. Remove foil and bake another 15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  9. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
