- 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Butter a baking dish and layer half the potato slices evenly.
- Sprinkle half the thyme, salt, pepper, and garlic powder over the potatoes.
- Pour half the cream and dot with half the butter.
- Repeat with remaining potatoes, seasonings, cream, and butter.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake another 15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
