Description

A classic cheese fondue recipe perfect for gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 400g Gruyère cheese, grated
  • 400g Emmental cheese, grated
  • 300ml dry white wine
  • 2 cloves garlic, halved
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp kirsch (cherry brandy)
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Fresh bread, cut into cubes for dipping

Instructions

  1. Rub the inside of a fondue pot with the garlic halves.
  2. Pour in the wine and heat until just simmering.
  3. Add the grated cheeses gradually, stirring continuously until melted.
  4. Stir in the lemon juice and cornstarch mixed with kirsch.
  5. Season with black pepper.
  6. Keep warm over a low flame and serve with bread cubes.
