Description

A warm and creamy cheese fondue perfect for dipping bread and vegetables.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 200g Gruyère cheese
  • 200g Emmental cheese
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 300ml dry white wine
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp kirsch (cherry brandy)
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • Bread cubes, for serving
  • Vegetables, for serving

Instructions

  1. Rub the inside of a fondue pot with the garlic clove.
  2. In a saucepan, heat the white wine and lemon juice until warm.
  3. Add the grated Gruyère and Emmental cheese gradually, stirring until melted.
  4. Mix the cornstarch with kirsch and add to the cheese mixture.
  5. Stir continuously until the mixture is smooth.
  6. Season with black pepper to taste.
  7. Transfer the mixture to the fondue pot and keep warm.
  8. Serve with bread cubes and vegetables for dipping.

Notes

  • Use a mix of Swiss cheeses for best flavor.
  • Adjust the thickness by adding more wine if needed.
  • Keep the pot on low heat to maintain the temperature.
