Description
A classic Swiss dish made with melted cheese served in a communal pot.
Ingredients

- 200g Gruyère cheese
- 200g Emmental cheese
- 1 clove garlic
- 300ml dry white wine
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp kirsch (cherry brandy)
- Freshly ground black pepper
- Freshly grated nutmeg
- Bread cubes for dipping
Instructions
- Rub the inside of the fondue pot with garlic.
- Heat wine and lemon juice in the pot over medium heat.
- Gradually add the grated cheeses, stirring until melted.
- Mix cornstarch with kirsch and add to the cheese mixture.
- Stir until the fondue is smooth and creamy.
- Season with pepper and nutmeg.
- Serve with bread cubes for dipping.
Notes
- You can use other types of cheese if preferred.
- Keep the fondue warm while serving.
- Pair with a light salad for a complete meal.
