Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 4 black tea bags
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 tablespoon whole cloves
  • 1 tablespoon whole cardamom pods
  • 1 tablespoon whole black peppercorns
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, sliced
  • 1/2 cup sugar (or to taste

Instructions

  1. Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan.
  2. Add 4 black tea bags to the boiling water.
  3. Add 2 cinnamon sticks, 1 tablespoon of whole cloves, 1 tablespoon of whole cardamom pods, 1 tablespoon of whole black peppercorns, and 1 tablespoon of sliced fresh ginger to the saucepan.
  4. Reduce heat and let the mixture simmer for 15-20 minutes.
  5. Remove the saucepan from heat and strain the mixture into a heatproof container.
  6. Stir in 1/2 cup of sugar (or to taste) until dissolved.
  7. Allow the concentrate to cool before storing.
  8. Store the concentrate in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
