Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves, black pepper, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine the buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, vanilla extract, and cooled chai tea. Mix until well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
