  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon coarse sugar (for sprinkling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly.
  3. Add ice water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until dough forms.
  4. Roll dough into a 12-inch circle on parchment paper.
  5. Toss apples with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
  6. Spread caramel sauce over the dough, leaving a 2-inch border.
  7. Arrange apple slices on top of caramel.
  8. Fold edges of dough over apples, pleating as needed.
  9. Brush crust with egg wash and sprinkle with coarse sugar.
  10. Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Cool slightly before serving.
