Description

Capirotada is a traditional Mexican bread pudding made with layers of bread, syrup, and various toppings.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups of water
  • 1 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 cup of cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup of raisins
  • 1/2 cup of shredded coconut
  • 1/2 cup of chopped nuts
  • 1/4 cup of cloves
  • 1/4 cup of anise seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a pot, bring water and brown sugar to a boil.
  3. Add cinnamon, cloves, and anise seeds to the syrup.
  4. Layer the cubed bread in a baking dish.
  5. Pour the syrup over the bread.
  6. Add raisins, coconut, and nuts between layers.
  7. Bake for 30-40 minutes until golden.
  8. Let it cool before serving.
