Description
Capirotada is a traditional Mexican bread pudding made with layers of bread, syrup, and various toppings.
Ingredients

- 6 cups of bolillo bread, cubed
- 2 cups of water
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- 1 cup of cinnamon
- 1/2 cup of raisins
- 1/2 cup of shredded coconut
- 1/2 cup of chopped nuts
- 1/4 cup of cloves
- 1/4 cup of anise seeds
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a pot, bring water and brown sugar to a boil.
- Add cinnamon, cloves, and anise seeds to the syrup.
- Layer the cubed bread in a baking dish.
- Pour the syrup over the bread.
- Add raisins, coconut, and nuts between layers.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes until golden.
- Let it cool before serving.

- Serve warm or at room temperature.
- Can be topped with whipped cream or ice cream.
