Ingredients

- 4 medium apples
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup corn syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- Wash and slice the apples into wedges.
- In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, and corn syrup.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
- Cook until it reaches a hard crack stage (around 300°F).
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and food coloring.
- Dip each apple slice into the candy mixture.
- Place on parchment paper to cool.
Notes
- Use tart apples for a better contrast with the sweet coating.
- Work quickly before the candy cools.
