- 2 cups (400g) granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
- 1 cup (85g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (175g) semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)
- 1 cup (100g) chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Remove from heat and stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract.
- Combine the flour, cocoa powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the butter mixture until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts, if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
