  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup (85g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (175g) semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1 cup (100g) chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Remove from heat and stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  3. Combine the flour, cocoa powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the butter mixture until just combined.
  4. Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts, if using.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
