- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoons paprika
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon dried thyme
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust for spice preference)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, thyme, oregano, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create the blackening seasoning.
- Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Rub the seasoning mixture evenly over both sides of each chicken breast.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned chicken breasts to the skillet.
- Cook for 5-7 minutes on one side until a dark crust forms. Flip and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes on the other side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Remove chicken from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
- Serve with lemon wedges and enjoy!
