Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust for spice preference)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, thyme, oregano, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create the blackening seasoning.
  2. Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Rub the seasoning mixture evenly over both sides of each chicken breast.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned chicken breasts to the skillet.
  4. Cook for 5-7 minutes on one side until a dark crust forms. Flip and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes on the other side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  5. Remove chicken from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  6. Serve with lemon wedges and enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in the spice mixture for up to 2 hours before cooking.
