Description

Beef Wellington is a classic dish featuring tender beef wrapped in pastry.


Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs beef tenderloin
  • 8 oz mushrooms, finely chopped
  • 4 oz pâté
  • 1 package puff pastry
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Season the beef with salt and pepper, then sear it in a hot pan until browned.
  3. Remove the beef and let it cool.
  4. In the same pan, cook the mushrooms until they release moisture and become dry.
  5. Spread Dijon mustard over the beef.
  6. Spread the mushroom mixture over the beef, then wrap it in pâté.
  7. Roll out the puff pastry and wrap it around the beef.
  8. Brush the pastry with beaten egg.
  9. Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
