- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- to taste salt
- to taste pepper
- 12 corn tortillas
- for frying vegetable oil
- 1 cup shredded cheese
- for serving sour cream
- for serving salsa
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add onion, garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper to the beef. Cook until the onion is soft.
- Warm the corn tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave to make them pliable.
- Place a small amount of the beef mixture and a sprinkle of cheese on each tortilla. Roll tightly and secure with a toothpick if necessary.
- In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Fry the taquitos until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
- Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
- Serve with sour cream and salsa.
