- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Sour cream, for serving
- Salsa, for serving
- Chopped cilantro, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the taco seasoning and cook for an additional 2 minutes, then remove from heat.
- Heat another skillet over medium heat and add a teaspoon of olive oil.
- Place one tortilla in the skillet, and sprinkle half of the shredded cheese evenly over it.
- Spread half of the beef mixture over the cheese, then top with another layer of cheese and cover with a second tortilla.
- Cook until the bottom tortilla is golden brown, about 3-4 minutes, then carefully flip the quesadilla and cook the other side until golden and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from the skillet and cut into wedges. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
- Serve with sour cream, salsa, and garnish with cilantro if desired.
Notes
- Feel free to add other fillings like bell peppers or onions for extra flavor.
- You can use corn tortillas for a gluten-free option.
