- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 bell pepper, chopped
- 2 cans (15 oz each) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup beef broth
- Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, green onions, avocado
Instructions
- In a large pot over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
- Add chopped onion, garlic, and bell pepper to the pot. Cook until the vegetables are softened.
- Stir in the kidney beans, crushed tomatoes, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Pour in the beef broth and stir to combine. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
- Reduce heat to low and let the chili cook for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve hot with your choice of toppings.
