- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
- 1 package (20 oz) cheese tortellini, refrigerated
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion and minced garlic until the beef is cooked through. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in the marinara sauce and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine the cooked beef mixture with the cheese tortellini. Mix well to coat the tortellini with the sauce.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Spread it out evenly.
- Top the tortellini mixture with shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil if desired before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
- Feel free to add vegetables like spinach or bell peppers for extra nutrition.
