Perfectly fluffy baked potatoes with a crispy skin, made easily in your oven.


Ingredients

  • 4 medium russet potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Butter, sour cream, chives, or toppings of your choice for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Scrub the potatoes under running water and dry them thoroughly.
  3. Prick each potato several times with a fork to allow steam to escape during baking.
  4. Rub each potato with olive oil and sprinkle with sea salt and black pepper.
  5. Place the potatoes directly on the oven rack or on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Bake for 45 to 60 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork.
  7. Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.
  8. Cut a slit in the top of each potato and fluff the insides with a fork.
  9. Serve with your favorite toppings.

Notes

  • For a crispier skin, you can bake the potatoes directly on the oven rack.
  • Cooking time may vary depending on the size of the potatoes. Larger potatoes may require additional time.
