- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook macaroni according to package instructions, then drain.
- Melt butter in a saucepan, whisk in flour, and cook for 1 minute.
- Gradually add milk, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens.
- Remove from heat, stir in cheese, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Combine cheese sauce with cooked macaroni and transfer to a baking dish.
- Sprinkle breadcrumbs on top and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden.
Notes
- Use sharp cheddar for a richer flavor.
- Add a pinch of paprika for extra spice.
