- 4 cups sliced apples
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples with half of the brown sugar and cinnamon.
- In another bowl, mix the bread crumbs with the remaining brown sugar and melted butter.
- Layer half of the apple mixture in a greased baking dish.
- Sprinkle half of the bread crumb mixture over the apples.
- Add the remaining apples on top of the bread crumbs.
- Finish by layering the rest of the bread crumb mixture over the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes or until the apples are tender.
- Let it rest for about 15 minutes after baking.
- Serve warm, ideally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
