Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground pork sausage with black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, and maple syrup (if using). Mix until well combined.
- Divide the sausage mixture into 8 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 1/2 inch thick.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Place the sausage patties in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they do not touch each other. You may need to cook in batches.
- Cook the sausage patties for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 160°F/71°C).
- Once cooked, remove the patties from the air fryer and let them rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
